Hi there!
My name is Shan Shan Huang, and I am a mechanical engineering student passionate about human-centered mechanical design. From prancing as a ballerina in Kaiping at age three to delving into STEM competitions in the suburbs of Texas, I live for adventure and challenge.
As a rising junior at MIT, 'adventure and challenge' has evolved into a new meaning for me: innovation. My work at the MIT Biomechatronics lab and project classes like Toy Product Design has taught me to break down problems, constantly ask questions, and challenge boundaries. I design to better people's lives, whether it's to spark imagination in kids or assist amputees in walking comfortably. In the future, I aim to reinvent the way we perform everyday tasks, allowing for efficiency but not forgetting the meaningful and personable value each product brings.

When I'm not designing or daydreaming about the future, you can find me exploring cuisines, traveling, experimenting with baking recipes, modifying my 3D printer, or watching the latest shows on Netflix.
